Göltürkbükü is located on top of Yeni Karyanda. Its old name was Gölköy. Its small lake, a small cove and pleasant settlement were combined and its current name resulted. The sea in Göltürkbükü is also like a lake. If you come through Torba and go through the village down to the seaside you pass through fields of mandarins on your right and left. We are talking about the scented Bodrum mandarins that give a different taste and smell to a gin and tonic when you cut a slice when not ripe yet.Göltürkbükü is the greenest part of the Bodrum Peninsula.
There are almost no traces of any ancient settlement here.

The kümbets, domed shaped constructions scattered between the houses, have nothing to do with ancient settlements. It is also claimed that the ancient city of Karyanda was on the island of Salih and that Yeni Karyanda was here. However, remains to prove these claims for both cities are almost non-existent.
Göltürkbükü, with its long beach, small hotels, restaurants and bars is very colourful. And nights are another joyful time by the sea.
