Torba is one of the coves that is closest to the to
Bodrum, being only six kilometres away. The pines almost grow right down to the coastline here. Although badly damaged in a fire some years ago the general greenness of the area remains. The northern side of the Bodrum Peninsula is greener as the winds are more humid, while on southern part it is drier and the vegetation is mainly maquis.
Torba is a quite and pleasant settlement, the only historic remains uncovered there being the ruins of a monastery dated to the 4th or 5th centuries.

Since the cove is closed even in windiest weather the sea is smooth. A large holiday resort, as well as high-quality and small hotels, line the shore. The beach area between the ferryboat terminal and the yachting marina is good for swimming. The sea is shallow and clean. It is recommended for those who want a quite and calm holiday. You can take a ferryboat trip from the terminal to
Didim.
